Kelly Volunteer of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 February 28, 2018<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 The YMCA of Florida\u2019s First Coast honored longtime volunteer Michael D. Kelly for his leadership and service to the Y, naming him Volunteer of the Year. Kelly received the award at the 8th Annual Y-Bash held at the University of North Florida Lazzara Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, February 27.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly is the Managing Director for Ziegler Financial Services, but volunteers much of his time to helping the Y and the community. As part of his volunteer efforts, Kelly has served on the First Coast YMCA Metropolitan Board of Directors since 2007. He previously served both as Chairman and Treasurer of the Metro Board. Kelly has also co-chaired the First Coast YMCA\u2019s community fundraising campaign for the past two years. Prior to his time on the Metro Board, Kelly served as a member of the Yates Family YMCA Advisory Board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMichael has always played an active role in advancing the mission of the Y,\u201d said YMCA of Florida\u2019s First Coast President and CEO Eric Mann. \u201cMichael\u2019s leadership and contribution to the Y has made a lasting impact upon the Jacksonville community, our children, YMCA members and the First Coast YMCA as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>YMCA of Florida\u2019s First Coast recognizes its staff, volunteers and community partners annually at the Y-Bash, an event celebrating their community impact through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Funding these priorities and the dedication of volunteers such as Kelly help the Y build a strong, supportive foundation for the communities it serves. Past recipients of the Volunteer of the Year Award include Josh Harrison, Stephen M. Buente, John Curtin, Peggy Bryan, Greg Atwater and Jim Overton.<\/p>\n<p>###<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Y<\/strong><br \/>\nIn 2018, YMCA of Florida\u2019s First Coast is celebrating its 110<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of serving the Northeast Florida community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
